St. Louis' most famous attraction is undoubtedly the Gateway
Arch, a 630 foot tall stainless steel structure built in the 1960s
that commemorates the city's role in westward expansion of the United States.
There are trams that take visitors to the top of the monument, offering breathtaking
views of the city and the surrounding area. Be sure to check out the historical
exhibits at the base of the legs as well as other parts of the Jefferson National
Expansion Memorial park.
